What does it mean if a guy friend is worried about another guy’s intentions with his female friend?

Maybe he's worried about you? That the guy isn't good enough for you or maybe he's scared that he'll hurt you. Don't have enough info tl say for sure tho

My friend’s mom, told me that my friend was worried about me. He went and shared his concern about said guy with her. Although he knew I wasn’t going to go and see the guy, he still told her about it. He has a girlfriend, and when I questioned him on it, he said he was worried about the guys intentions and just the whole thing overall. This started when I asked if he thought I’d be crazy to want to drive and see a guy I’d been talking, not anytime soon, but down the road at some point.

Basically he’s good friends with me, but he doesn’t know the guy I was talking to at all
