Why is this guy so clingy after the first date?

So I've had a date with a guy and it was really cool. We talked a lot and had fun. But the problem is that he's already very clingy. He texts me all day and asks me questions about myself and how my day is/how I feel etc. using a lot of kiss and blushing smilies during texting. He also always asks me where I am and what I am doing (which I find a bit creepy) and tells me the same about himself. When I send him funny videos he watches them immediately. He even got angry with me because I didn't tell him I was going for a walk because he would have wanted to go with me...
I think it's cute and all but I feel pressured and I think he's moving way too fast. I like talking to him but he's just too much for now. I think you can act this way when you are already in a relationship but not now. Why is this guy acting so over the top?

Many guys don't realize that they are doing something that comes across clingy. I'm a pretty extroverted guy, and I'd been told many times that I wasn't making enough effort to make women feel like I wanted them in my life. So I started trying to text and interact with women more, and I ended up alienating several women and they would always just ghost without any apparent explanation. This had been going on for a few years until someone finally waved the flag to me that I was texting girls too much. I think if you try to communicate clearly with him, you will probably get through without offending him.

I thought desperation turned girls off to the point that they would just ghost a guy for it? His behavior reeks of it.

It would be my guess that he is into you, really into you. Be honest with him, tell him that you enjoy talking to him. But that he is pushing you away by being so demanding of your time etc
