Guys, Would guy return a compliment just to be friendly?

I complimented my crush when he told me that he had a long jog that day and after the jog he went to the gym. I was impressed and I complimented how energetic person he was.

then he asked if I have a hobby and I said to him that I play volleyball. He seem to be impressed by that and said that’s really nice.

Ofcourse... A compliment specially from man to woman would be like a "flower" sometimes even more... as maybe that person would feel down, or anxious about situations/things, so i'm sure it will be very welcome... and would have been my pleasure too, knowing that i lifted that person's mood!, even if its just a little!

Of course i wouldn't costs nothing to compliment a woman... now depends, if she makes it like "i thank you for the compliment and like you at the same time", then the whole situation changes... but either way... a compliment would bring a smile and a satisfaction to the both parts.

by the way this same guy heart reacts/likes my messages often and then replies to the same texts too after liking them when we chat in the Instagram DM’s. One time he heart reacted my texts 3 times during one conversation. Am I reading into it too much?
