Not at all! I get my hair cut my men and I think they sometimes do a better job albeit most male hairdressers are gay. If they were straight I probably wouldn’t be that comfortable. Male homosexual hairdressers can easily put me at ease because of how chirpy they tend to be. We can easily discuss everything from boyfriends to makeup, cosmetic surgery, celeb gossip blah blah... I think most men in the fashion industries tend to be gay anyway so yeah I feel very much at ease. They’re super friendly.

Nah, last time I went to a guy he messed it up. Dude was covered in tattoos and had poor communication skills. He was so rough on my head. NEVER experienced anything like that. Plus the place only cuts MEN, and I don't like gender discrimination.
I wanted to leave as soon as I saw the tattooed guy. Only reason I went, was because I made an appointment and I didn't wanna bail, but I could've because the guy was late and so unorganized he didn't even know I had an appointment. And when he finally opened the shop, he was sweeping up the hair from the previous day.
It's like a place for young men, but it was the most unprofessional barber shop I've ever seen. I don't know how they're still in business. I'm a nerd with glasses and I didn't belong in that guy's company at all. NEVER going to such a place again.
My mother used to say that men make better nurses, hairdressers, manicurists and personal assistants. I on the other hand, find that nurses can be either gender and be trusted, since I am one myself. I prefer having my hair cut by women, simply because women have a better understanding what looks best on a man. Other peoples' mileage will probably vary.
Personally, I'm more relaxed and comfortable when Maria cuts my hair than if Michael does. Bottom line, really, is what can the person do with their mind, eyes and hands, which does not depend on what's between the thighs.
Wow that's really odd.
The service industry is much more commonly worked by women, especially in the aesthetic/style industries.
If that guy is uncomfortable I think that's his problem not your salon's. If he wants a barber, he can go to a barber shop. They still exist. Those haircuts are known to be less technically good than hair salons.

Learning how to cut a woman's hair takes a few months of practice. Learning how to cut a man's hair takes years of practice. Cutting a man's hair is a matter of shades, cutting a woman's hair is a matter of trivial elementary school geometries.
Men's hairdressers are on the verge of extinction because learning how to cut a man's hair costs and pays much less. Women pay a lot more for their hair.
The fact that whoever cuts my hair is a man, a woman or a transsexual doesn't make any difference, as long as I'm good at cutting men's hair, and is silent while doing it.No, to be truthful I rather have a Woman cut my hair, I'm not into Men barbers just makes me uncomfortable I remember going to Men barbers once in blue moon but not to my liking, I also rather be the only Man in a room full of Women , just the way I see things
I've had a woman barber for 15 years. It wasn't until she retired that I found a new barber- another woman. Women have better attention to detail. This is why I also prefer women doctors and dentists, although women dentists don't seem to be common.
Yeah I agree with the update, it’s more about men are more adequate cutting men hair compared to women, Before I had a personal barber I would jump around and I only found 1 woman who was good at cutting men hair compared to the amount of men barber I found that were also good. But it makes sense women hair vs men hair are different styles especially when it comes to fades. I wish there were more women barbers I would love to see women excel in those areas as well!
I doubt the one guy you know complained. Women are horn dogs for male hairdressers. There was a movie made about how women love to fuck make hairdressers, I think it was called "Hair". Don't blame the guy.
Yes, but not because it's women. I get uncomfortable when someone takes way longer to cut my hair than is necessary. I have never had a guy take more than 10 minutes to cut my hair, while every single woman that ever cut my hair took more than half an hour.
You're confused.
Barbers and hairdressers are a different breed of expertise. Sure buzz cut, and the odd shave, any idiot can do. But just as a girl wouldn't entrust a barber to do her hair, so would a guy not be too happy vis versa.
It's not gender thing, rather, a matter of expertise.Next time you see that guy - if you do - tell him most male hairdressers are gay. And if he wants a simple haircut to stop wasting everyone's time & go to a barbers.
It doesn’t and if they are good looking and male I might be happy to look at them while they work but I find woman tend to be more detail oriented and slow so I prefer to get my hair cut from a woman.
Nah as long as they're trained in doing men's haircuts coz our needs are different. (Simpler, albeit, but different nonetheless.)
I've usually gone to men's barbers which tend to be all-male staff, but once or twice I've been to a unisex hairdresser's and it's been just fineNot at all. I always use women stylists because I enjoy talking with them. I'm almost 100% hetero-social.
Nope. I had a guy do an excellent job on my hair and I pride myself on having hair. First time I ever cut my hair short and he did excellent.
If anything i would be more comfortable with a women than a man. Of course it was some random sexist complaint.
It doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. She does brush against me sometimes, but it's incidental, and doesn't spark anything.
I've never had a male cut my hair because I've only really gone to female hairdressers so I can't speak to that, but I would venture it depends on how familiar they are with male/female cuts and their overall skill level. My dad has been going to a female barber for years. I just hate having my haircut in general because you say cut just an inch, and somehow they always seem to do 2-3...I have more issues with that!
Not at all, though I do need to catch myself because sometimes I get a little bit turned on. It's nothing really bad just kinda an internal monologue of "ooo that feels really nice... Dude, cut it out, she's just trying to do her job"
yes if a hot girl cuts my hair I feel shy. one time a girl ask me if I wanted a hair cut it scared me. I feel drunk when I look at this hot girl the work at the hair salon.
No I got my hair cut by both genders and actually the men has done a better work. But all have been acceptable.
I'd much rather have a girl cut it, because I just say make me look good. I have to explain what I want to a guy.
If getting a massage from a female masseuse doesn't make me uncomfortable, getting a haircut certainly won't.
