Not at all! I get my hair cut my men and I think they sometimes do a better job albeit most male hairdressers are gay. If they were straight I probably wouldn’t be that comfortable. Male homosexual hairdressers can easily put me at ease because of how chirpy they tend to be. We can easily discuss everything from boyfriends to makeup, cosmetic surgery, celeb gossip blah blah... I think most men in the fashion industries tend to be gay anyway so yeah I feel very much at ease. They’re super friendly.

+1 yNah, last time I went to a guy he messed it up. Dude was covered in tattoos and had poor communication skills. He was so rough on my head. NEVER experienced anything like that. Plus the place only cuts MEN, and I don't like gender discrimination.
I wanted to leave as soon as I saw the tattooed guy. Only reason I went, was because I made an appointment and I didn't wanna bail, but I could've because the guy was late and so unorganized he didn't even know I had an appointment. And when he finally opened the shop, he was sweeping up the hair from the previous day.
It's like a place for young men, but it was the most unprofessional barber shop I've ever seen. I don't know how they're still in business. I'm a nerd with glasses and I didn't belong in that guy's company at all. NEVER going to such a place again.13 Reply- +1 y

"guys would be more adept at cutting mens hair"
I don't necessarily agree. lol
My mother used to say that men make better nurses, hairdressers, manicurists and personal assistants. I on the other hand, find that nurses can be either gender and be trusted, since I am one myself. I prefer having my hair cut by women, simply because women have a better understanding what looks best on a man. Other peoples' mileage will probably vary.
Personally, I'm more relaxed and comfortable when Maria cuts my hair than if Michael does. Bottom line, really, is what can the person do with their mind, eyes and hands, which does not depend on what's between the thighs.10 Reply

The service industry is much more commonly worked by women, especially in the aesthetic/style industries.
If that guy is uncomfortable I think that's his problem not your salon's. If he wants a barber, he can go to a barber shop. They still exist. Those haircuts are known to be less technically good than hair salons.22 Reply- +1 y
Apparently he was alright he just never had a woman cut his hair

Learning how to cut a woman's hair takes a few months of practice. Learning how to cut a man's hair takes years of practice. Cutting a man's hair is a matter of shades, cutting a woman's hair is a matter of trivial elementary school geometries.
Men's hairdressers are on the verge of extinction because learning how to cut a man's hair costs and pays much less. Women pay a lot more for their hair.
The fact that whoever cuts my hair is a man, a woman or a transsexual doesn't make any difference, as long as I'm good at cutting men's hair, and is silent while doing it.00 Reply
+1 yNo, to be truthful I rather have a Woman cut my hair, I'm not into Men barbers just makes me uncomfortable I remember going to Men barbers once in blue moon but not to my liking, I also rather be the only Man in a room full of Women , just the way I see things
10 Reply383 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I've had a woman barber for 15 years. It wasn't until she retired that I found a new barber- another woman. Women have better attention to detail. This is why I also prefer women doctors and dentists, although women dentists don't seem to be common.
20 ReplyYeah I agree with the update, it’s more about men are more adequate cutting men hair compared to women, Before I had a personal barber I would jump around and I only found 1 woman who was good at cutting men hair compared to the amount of men barber I found that were also good. But it makes sense women hair vs men hair are different styles especially when it comes to fades. I wish there were more women barbers I would love to see women excel in those areas as well!

+1 yI doubt the one guy you know complained. Women are horn dogs for male hairdressers. There was a movie made about how women love to fuck make hairdressers, I think it was called "Hair". Don't blame the guy.

Who hurt you?
+1 yNope. I had a guy do an excellent job on my hair and I pride myself on having hair. First time I ever cut my hair short and he did excellent.
30 Reply334 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Yes, but not because it's women. I get uncomfortable when someone takes way longer to cut my hair than is necessary. I have never had a guy take more than 10 minutes to cut my hair, while every single woman that ever cut my hair took more than half an hour.
00 Reply920 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. You're confused.
Barbers and hairdressers are a different breed of expertise. Sure buzz cut, and the odd shave, any idiot can do. But just as a girl wouldn't entrust a barber to do her hair, so would a guy not be too happy vis versa.
It's not gender thing, rather, a matter of expertise.00 Reply
+1 yNext time you see that guy - if you do - tell him most male hairdressers are gay. And if he wants a simple haircut to stop wasting everyone's time & go to a barbers.

@oliviaofthescots - do you know this fool? Barbers were designed for men to go and get their hair cut. Hairdressers are predominantly for women. So if you know this guy tell him to pull his head from his arse before he suffocates and go to a barbers.

+1 yIt doesn’t and if they are good looking and male I might be happy to look at them while they work but I find woman tend to be more detail oriented and slow so I prefer to get my hair cut from a woman.
20 Reply 346 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. It doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. She does brush against me sometimes, but it's incidental, and doesn't spark anything.

+1 yNah as long as they're trained in doing men's haircuts coz our needs are different. (Simpler, albeit, but different nonetheless.)
I've usually gone to men's barbers which tend to be all-male staff, but once or twice I've been to a unisex hairdresser's and it's been just fine00 Reply 4.4K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Not at all. I always use women stylists because I enjoy talking with them. I'm almost 100% hetero-social.
30 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. If anything i would be more comfortable with a women than a man. Of course it was some random sexist complaint.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI've never had a male cut my hair because I've only really gone to female hairdressers so I can't speak to that, but I would venture it depends on how familiar they are with male/female cuts and their overall skill level. My dad has been going to a female barber for years. I just hate having my haircut in general because you say cut just an inch, and somehow they always seem to do 2-3...I have more issues with that!

+1 yNot at all, though I do need to catch myself because sometimes I get a little bit turned on. It's nothing really bad just kinda an internal monologue of "ooo that feels really nice... Dude, cut it out, she's just trying to do her job"

+1 yyes if a hot girl cuts my hair I feel shy. one time a girl ask me if I wanted a hair cut it scared me. I feel drunk when I look at this hot girl the work at the hair salon.

Currently where I live such opposite gender hairdressers are not available10 Reply 431 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I never had a problem with having a woman cut my hair. I actually preferred it. I'd rather look at a pretty woman then a guy while I'm getting my hair cut

+1 yNo, it makes me uncomfortable to get a haircut from the same gender. I almost never accept a male barber unless that's the only hair stylist available.
10 Reply 619 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I've only ever had women cut my hair at a hair dresser place

+1 yNo. Id feel uncomfortable having a same sex (male) hair dresser. Its normal for a woman to touch me but men outside of high five or wrestling or sports i dont want some man caressing my head or anything like that.
10 Reply No. If a barber wants to shave my head then sure. He is a man and I don't have to worry next time I show up at a beauty salon asking for my balls to get waxed knowing it's a homosexual who is going to be playing with my balls. No thanks.
10 Reply4.6K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. No, it won't make me uncomfortable but I never got a haircut from the opposite gender.
10 Reply558 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. If getting a massage from a female masseuse doesn't make me uncomfortable, getting a haircut certainly won't.
10 ReplyNope, I prefer it. Every woman that has ever cut my hair has just stuffed it up and every guy that’s cut my hair has done an amazing job

+1 yNah it's just a haircut. I won't get a wax from a guy though.
20 Reply Not at all. A female has been cutting my hair for 7 years and she does the best job. That never made me uncomfortable. If anything, she always gives me a fresh perspective on haircuts among other things we chit chat about.
10 ReplyWhy would it? I wouldn't care, as long as he pays attention to detail, qnd cuts my hair how I like then sure.

+1 yWhat kind of question is that? No it doesn't. I have dreadlocks now, but when I was getting my haircut, few women had cut my hair on the regular. There's no magic to being a barber

+1 yNope. Female hair stylists are actually my favorite. IMHO I think they pay greater attention to finer details and cut my hair exactly how I like.
00 ReplyNot at all! They usually know a better "style" for me, than just hacking off the long bits, here and there, during the COVID shutdowns.

+1 yNo, I love getting my hair cut by a female. The place I go to only has female stylists. I go there because my mom knows the owner and she used to take care of the owner’s mom while she was in my mom’s care at our local assisted living facility.
00 ReplyNope, not at all. Which ever gender that can cut hair, do the job & get it done. That won't matter to me.

But having my hair cut by a girl does have its perks. Depending on the girl, having her boobs rub against as she cuts is a plus.10 ReplyIt wouldn't bother me who cuts my hair to be honest but I cut mine myself so a male cuts mine 🤣🤣

I'm not being edgy, it's just a word, treat like one.
And I'm being honest, it's a problem for me.
When it comes to the aesthetic industry, you either have someone making their perfect partner or living vicariously through you.
I rather the first than the latter.
Well, professionalism and followings instructions would be better, but that's hard and frequently not desirable in the arts field.
