I've had 2 bonded pairs of male cats who cuddled each other. I was wondering why human men aren't so physically affectionate with one another. Is it just fear of being seen as gay?Pic off google

Why do male cats cuddle each other, but (straight) male humans don't?
Here's something you probably don't hear very often: you wouldn't be asking if you were immortal. The current social proscription against platonic touch between men is a relatively recent thing; it's not hard at all to find early black and white pictures of men holding hands and hugging and so forth. Were they gay? Some of them, probably. But it was mostly just a sign of their love for one another.

Have you ever seen two guys at a sports arena hug each other spontaneously? Clap each other on the back for a job well done? Etc. Guys are physically affectionate with each other also a lot of horseplay is male bonding. But as it's so common that we generally miss it for what it is. No, two guys won't cuddle up next to each other, but they will lounge together on a couch watching the game. Nudge each other to get their attention. Work shoulder to shoulder under the hood of a car. Even teach by grabbing the others hand and directing it. Especially when women are not around guys are quite touchy (a woman changes the dynamic). A lot of women seem to think that guys are in constant competition with each other. They are not, and often the competition comes out when a woman is present.
Contrary to popular belief cats are social creatures. It's one reason why people who have one cat may find that that cat is "problematic" or prone to "bad habits". Whereas as cats are territorial too many felines in a household likewise causes trouble.
Many bonded cats bonded when they were young and like how people have BFFs that is the cat's version. Other bonded cats bond as an adult and kitten and like how people always have that one older person they look up to this is the cat's version.
Has nothing to do with something as silly as homosexuality. When male animals "mate" other males it's a dominance thing not a sexual thing.
It depends on the culture. In some cultures guys greet eachother with a kiss on the cheek. In some cultures affectionate words between male friends like "my love" are more common. And none of it is even thought of as gay or has any romantic intention. Although "cuddling" is another thing, which I'm sure wouldn't be common among guys, so it's true. It's a good question, and I voted for societal norms it is the biggest reason.
Yes that's pretty much it because young boys are often very affectionate with each other then they go to school and their classmates explain to them that being gay is bad and being affectionate with other boys is gay so they don't want anyone to think they are bad so they stop being affectionate with each other. When I was 7 I used to cuddle my best friend then someone told him that was gay and he didn't want to any more.
Because cats are cute as adults, and are not sexually dimorphic in appearance outside the genitals.
People tend to cuddle a spouse or their child, not really anyone else.
Adult cats look very similar to kittens in structure, and male cats look very similar to female cats in structure.

I wonder how many human female friends cuddle each other? Male cats cuddle cause that's just the way they feel and are animals, as far as Human Males cuddling if your Straight then that stuff doesn't happen but if your Human Male, and Gay then I imagine it happens?
Cats also lick each other to show their bond, that doesn't meen humans have to start to do that as well, and for what? to prove that "you're not afraid to look gay" lol
When broken down to its most basic form most likely social norms although its somthing im totally happy with i see no reason why I would want to cuddle a guy friend
Male cats sleep all day then go out at night, fight with other tomcats, and try their luck with the female cats. You are right, we should be more like tomcats.
Cuddling is a form of human intimacy, though. It most likely means something completely different for cats. If the male cats are both neutered then it might also have something to do with it.
Well you have two questions they’re actually and I was wondering if those cats are from the same litter so they may be brothers and animals don’t care but with humans brothers do hug but it’s because of society that men don’t do that
