Maybe it used to, but I think in the modern age not all men like the chase anymore. I don't mind having to work a bit for something, but I'm not going to put months and months of effort in someone who might like me, but is just playing hard to get and is not giving any signs that she likes me back. It's fine to stay in the grey area where you know you both like each other for a while and not get to serious, but to me, a girl that plays hard to get for to long and just isn't authentic in her feelings is just a turn off.

Only in the sense that men want the beautiful unobtainable. However, most men don't have the confidence or foolhardiness to chase after women that rejected them. They get turned down enough as it is. They are not seeking more rejection. Therefore, if a woman plays hard to get, most men assume she is not interested or available to them.

Movie stars are an exception because women don't turn down movie stars so they don't have the pain of frequent rejection and will assume, even if she turns them down, she is actually interested.

I have never been like that, so do not think men likes that unless they are extroverts and I don't think all extroverts are either. We are turned on by the presents of a woman that tick enough of our preferences, the chase has nothing to do with it, except that it tells you the preferences are fulfilled.

I got really sick of all the games. Girls playing hard to get was not a turn on for me. I got to the point where I would be upfront with how I felt. I just did not want t oplay games any more.
