It depends on the situation why the person stays. My partner has lied to me and I have found that out on numerous occasions but I make excuses for his behaviour even though I hate lies. I tell him I rather the truth no matter how much it hurts than a lie. Thoughts going through my head are he has got other good qualities about him and he is not all bad. Maybe just a bit of denial by people that the person will change.
