What does it usually mean when a guy and girl hold eye contact with each other for a few seconds? Would you say that it means something?

well it could be that they are attracted to each other... but sometimes I kind of space out and after a while realize I have been looking into a guys eyes for a while without noticing. Did it feel like it was a chemistry-kind of look or more of a speculative-kind of look? because if its the later then it just means he was thinking of something and caught you eye ;)

No. He wasn't spaced out. He looked me directly in the eye & was aware of it.

I usually think it means that you have some sort of chemistry between you, especially if it makes you feel good or gives you butterflies.

If his eyebrows are raised during the look(an open face) or he looks down after, or breaks a smile like he can't help it...even better

Well I guess it could mean that you guys just looked at each other by accident. Usually people will smile flirtatiously or at least smile with their eyes if there is a connection.

It means that both of you notice the attraction to each other. when the contact is held for a few seconds, that is normally good and a sign to talk to him within the class period or where ever you are.
