Whenever my boyfriend and I have talked about not being together in the future (for whatever circumstances; death, break up, etc) he always says he would never date or sleep with anyone else again. Is that odd?
It always makes me feel really weird and somewhat guilty because I've had more partners than he has and I know that I would probably move on and eventually find someone.

So is it weird that I wouldn't be afraid of going out and pursuing others or is it weird that he feels like he would stay forever alone?

Depends on how “committed” he’s to this relationship. If he’s possessive, controlling, insecure, have low esteem, he might be suffering from love obsessive disorder which can be suicidal or dangerous. If he’s not that committed, ordinary, he’s just saying it for the sake/ lying to make you feel special, like you are the only one in his dreams and might actually be sleeping with someone else.

We've talked about marriage and a family the whole time we've been together... but then again there's a lot of people who like to romanticize. I'm a huge empath and I only realized recently how little I've taken care of my emotional and mental well being while we've lived together this past year because I've been so focused on his insecurities and low self esteem.

Sacrifice is a significant part of any healthy relationship and the truth, for many successful relationships/marriages, women have sacrificed more, sacrificed their careers etc. It’s the way it is. Am not saying it’s the way it should be, but it’s the way it is. Your next relationship isn’t guaranteed, sometimes people decide to work with bare minimums, relationships are never easy, two people with independent minds coming together isn’t easy as it may sound or how it’s portrayed in the movies.

My take: Listen to your heart, if you don’t find any fulfillment in this relationship - sometimes you can forego some of your desires because you are getting some out of it. For example, some people choose to remain with unromantic or poor sex partners because they are faithful husbands / wives or have financial stability, If it’s unbearable then, you need to breakup ASAP, it’s up to him to do whatever he please next. CAUTION: when you breakup, no turning back, most women are hurt even killed by jealous ex lovers once they look back, it happens a lot where the ex is mentally unstable, love obsessed, commits murder and suicide.

I'm just like him. If I love someone, I am focused on that specific person and I don't think I can love somebody else and I would rather die alone 😂. Guess we are the romantic type, but if you don't feel that way, it's okay. We are not all the same

I've just never encountered it to that extreme I guess. And I met two of my soul mates and my great love before turning 24 so I guess as bad as it sounds I know that even though I'd be devastated that there will always be a silver lining
