Am I wrong for being kinda rude to a guy who ghosted me?

He started acting weird (ignoring me, not talking to me: being short if I talked to him first) and when I brought it up he denied it and said he’d just been busy. Well, a couple weeks later this behavior continued but for a few weeks. Well seeing as I had already tried to talk to him and he denied it (even though it was obviously a lie, he was acting different) and we never even dated, I figured I’m not putting up with this foolishness and stopped reaching out and if we did ever see each other (small town haha) I would just act like He didn’t exist. He didn’t talk to me at all for 6 weeks. This drove me crazy but he seemed fine and I figured if he can go that long without talking to me fuck him. Well shortly after he started talking to me when he sees me, and even comes by to see me at work now (I’m a cashier) he hasn’t reached out on social media except liking a pic and viewing my story. Anytime he talks to me I don’t ignore him but I’m short with him, and when he makes a joke or whatever, I either just laugh or say nothing. I’m actually getting to the point where I think I’m getting over him but I still feel bad because it isn’t like me to not be personable and bubbly, but he started it. Should I tell him to leave me alone or just continue to be short with him?

It might've been a bit rude, and of course it's not good to be rude, but you're human. I can see you took his actions (and at times lack thereof,) personally. It's excusable of you to be rude, and probably in your best interest to move on. Someone who treats you like that and the only recompense you give is to continue to put up with it? You'd be inviting more of the same.
