Why doesn’t my boyfriend compliment how I smell?

I always go all out buying new lingerie and new scents from Victoria secret or a new perfume from the mall but never does my boyfriend compliment how I smell. The only way he tells me ( my new scent smells good) is if I tell him I bought a new perfume.

Maybe secretly he doesn’t actually like the smell or maybe he has gotten used to the smell from the perfumes that you use that his nose has desensitised himself to the point he doesn’t smell it anymore for me I can’t really smell perfumes unless someone is wearing half a bottle of perfume
