Why do some guys get irritated if you ask them to do more than one thing at a time?

It's because our brains don't multitask naturally - we work by focusing on one thing at a time, and doing that thing very well until it's finished, and then moving on to the next thing. If we try to do 2 things at once, it will take us 4 times as long to get them both done. We know how to be efficient, and for us, multitasking is NOT how we work efficiently.

Women's brains naturally multitask, so that's how women work efficiently: doing several things at once. But this just cannot be applied to (most) men, because our brains just don't work that way.

Depends on context

If it's things like remembering to pick up something from the store and take out the trash, I'd say Laziness

If it's two things that are more like favors for you specifically then that gives a sense of taking or people wanting things from you.

Like if my girl were to ask me to take a picture of her. Yea I'll take a picture of her. If she asks for another. Sure I'll take one more. If she asks for another. Na I'm done. I didn't sign-up for a photo shoot. Ya get one lol

Not everyone can multi-task. It's been said that women are better at it than men, so maybe that's why they get "irritated". Just for the record, I'm hopeless at that as well. Don't ask me to do something if I'm already in the middle of doing something else. It's annoying when people demand two, three, or four different things at once!

They can be singular, possibly thinking if they just take forever on that one thing then you won't have anything else to ask.

Because it is seven things at once, then when the guy does that one task for a female, she adds another. This is how 'The game' is played. The guy is not allowed to ask the female to do tasks except 'make me a sandwich' (For instance) and the female seems to believe that when she does a task for the male without his knowledge it is good intention yet it breaks something that belongs to the male, and it this has to be shrugged off, where a male trying to do something for the female it is 'intrusive' or done wrong!

This is quite a lot of females, not all!

Lol... you kind of asked about this week last week with the can guys multi task question. Most of us CAN multi-task, we just don't prefer it. We are wired to focus on one thing at a time. So if we are suddenly asked to do another task we may get irritated because we have to shut everything down mentally for the present task and retool for something different (by the way that we may not want to do) which adds to the aggravation. Hope this makes sense.

Because we're trying to please you. By giving us two simultaneous tasks, you mask your priorities, making it difficult for us to figure out what will please you the most. It turns a simple situation into one where we can make the wrong choice. That's frustrating.

I think it is a form of digital dementia. The human brain has billions of interconnected cells. Today, we stare at digital devices that are based off a series of on/off switches. I believe it harms the brain. Men are more single minded because of our caveman brain, hunting requirements. The digital devices just made it worse.

Write a list and ask them to complete the list. One job at a time is easy, when you want fifteen things done, don't just say them in one go. Personally I'd only be able to remember a couple of them.

Basically, we’re like old computers that can only accept one command at a time. If someone tries to send too many requests, we immediately come back with an abrupt error message.
