Guys, why do men sometimes say they will do things and then don’t do it?

I’m talking about times when he is apparently super eager to do things for me, and he says he is 100% sure or 99% sure he will do this or that for me, and he tells me a lot of beautiful words, but then he doesn’t follow up. Nothing happens. And I was not even asking these things. I don’t think he is lying though but there are some obvious inconsistencies… just trying to understand this behavior, I don’t think women do that? It seems strange to me

Well he’s always been like that, twice he said 100% I’m coming to see you next week and then he doesn’t. Once he said he had sent me some stuff and the stuff never arrived, lol. We’re not in a relationship we’re ‘talking’. Maybe he’s quite impulsive and changes his mind but then that leaves me so disappointed for nothing

Then he’s just not committed or you’re not the priority you were hoping. So if ur counting on an uncommitted guy then you’re setting yourself up for disappointment, dear.
