Why do guys say they will do something when no one asks them and then not follow through- so I was talking to this guy and I said "I heard the restaurant around the corner is good, I don't know personally, but that's what people are saying." He goes- "I will try it tomorrow". Later we got on the topic of movies, and I said "There is an old movie that someone recommended, they said it was funny, and the old trailer looks promising." Once again, I never said to watch it or anything- this guy goes "I will watch it tonight". A few days later, I ran into him and I asked him if he had eaten at the restaurant, I was hungry so I'm contemplating going and getting takeout as it was the closest place- he goes I have been too busy to go. And then we started to talk and I asked him if the movie was good- again he was too busy. I don't know I felt stupid asking, I don't care if he didn't get a chance, but I don't want it to come off as if I was waiting for him to do it.
Because a lot of women fall for words and will think a man is a good man for even just saying stuff that makes her feel special. This is why I don’t pay attention to words, I pay attention to how you treat me. If he mentions something but doesn’t follow through, that’s a broken promise

He lied. He wasn’t intending to go to the restaurant but didn’t want to say that as he thought you expected him to try it. By him saying he will try it tomorrow he can advance the conversation into a topic he is more interested in.
I'm thinking he wanted to sound like he was interested in what you were talking about. He probably has no intention of trying the restaurant or watching the movie.
