I doesn’t bother me too much. We just playfully bicker about it. I don’t like touching the toilet though, but he is the sweetest guy ever because he recently bought me a little handle that you can attach to the toilet, so that I can touch the handle instead of the toilet.
You could strap a bungee cord to it, that way you have to hold it for it to stay up...

Oh, I thought you already had it and it was just a handle that stuck on it. It is probably a petal that you step on to raise it and lower it. At least that's the only type I have seen before and I have seen them a few times. The ones I seen you had to stand on it to keep the seat up and when you step off it let's it down slowly.
