Does anyone else have a tendency to subconsciously think that just cause you start liking or noticing someone, they have to or must be like you back?

I mean I'd LIKE for them to like me back and most usually do when we exchange looks and talk. I'll admit I'm a spoiled bratty brat and I need to come back to earth and be more humble
