Why did my male coworker (who likes me) lie to me and tell me he's planning on resigning and gave me his resume to review?

He is about 14 years older than me, and much more senior than me, with much more experience than me in the professional field, so i can't understand why he would ask ME (someone much younger and with much less experience) to go over his resume, and he asked for my feedback?

I later found out that he's not planning on leaving any time soon, and that in face, he's staying here for two years.

Fact is that he is trying to impress you with his curriculum.

He is expecting a "wow" from you when you see his accomplishments and hopes that you will try to persuade him to stay. This is a very clumsy trick to get into your pants.

Yes, that is his final intention. By showing you his field experience and expertise, he hopes that you will react in such a way that would lead him to believe that you care and that you will try to prevent him from leaving the company.

It only shows that this guy is kind of desperate. If you are indeed in the age group 30-35, that would signify that he is at least in his mid forties and therefore, he has reached this mid-life crisis where he needs to prove himself that he is still attractive and can get girls with a scheme.

Better distance yourself from this kind of people.
