Boyfriend lied about coming to visit me?

I’m been seeing this guys for the past year. We are long distance - a 5 hour train journey apart. We have only met 3 times and all of those times I have went to visit him. We FaceTime all the time and say “I love you” and he says stuff like he one day see’s us living together etc. Anyway , he was supposed to come and visit me last week but cancelled last minute with a not very good excuse. I decided to check the bus times he was supposed to get and there were no busses running at the time he said. He told me he booked the tickets so when I confronted him about this over text (as he would not answer my calls) he said “the times aren’t there because it’s sold out”. He didn’t even send me a screenshot of his tickets or anything. I feel like such a fool as I basically had to beg him to come visit me. He only finally said yes after booking a weeks holiday with his friends. That upset me cos I don’t understand how he could so easily go on holiday with them but not come visit me. I guess my main question is do you think he was ever going to come visit me or if he just said yes to shut me up? And also do you think anything he said was genuine? Or was I just a backup plan until something better came along closer to him?

there were plans of a future and living together one day, but it if he can't even come and visit me after all this time then I don't see it happening. I decided to cut him off as I don't want to have my time wasted and for him to always make broken promises about coming to visit.

yes exactly haha. I blocked him after I ended it cos I genuinely don't think I have it in me to get my hopes up for anything to do with him again.

I get the feeling you wee nothing but a back up plan. LDR are hard on people, so it might be best to remove him from your life.
