I've been seeing this guy for 8 months. I recently had a small gathering this past weekend which he was invited to. I invited him last min because I have not told my family and friends about him. He did not show or respond saying he can't come. Which is not a problem because I was kind of relieve he did not come. I had not reached out to him since that day which was Saturday. He texted me yesterday morning saying Hey this is my new number. But it was not a new number it's the same exact number. So I just ignored him. I go on his Instagram and he is bash me for not responding. Why would he say he has a new number and does not. I facetime him asking did he mean to text me he says yes to give me his number. I said I have that number already he says no you don't. Is he doing this for attention?

Maybe we are on different pages here but I’m reading between the lines and looking at this situation in a very different light. 8 months in and you haven’t even told your anyone about him? Family is one thing but not even friends? Why not? Inviting him to meet your loved ones was also a big deal, and even though you say you feel relieved he didn’t come, why is there no repercussions for him leaving you hanging? What if you had told your family he was coming and that happened? That would be a shit first impression. I don't know girl, it just sounds like you’re settling to waste your time with this dude who is not serious about you. 8 months in he should be a boyfriend not someone you are just seeing.

They know about him but my family is toxic I don't want them meeting him. I've bad experience with my ex so I want to keep it separate If he wants to meet them he can but I'm not going to push it

I understand toxic family, but I mean I’d you have to deal with them then your partner would have to as well. Even with that aside, his bailing on you without a word was super rude, and would’ve looked bad had your family been expecting him. Not to mention how long it’s been just dating. Does he want a relationship? Do you?

Well this was the first time I have been around my family in a year. So when I invited him I kind of just left it open. I said you can come if you want I did not want him to feel like he had to come. I really did not know what to expect from my family. Honestly the event was a shit show I was embarrassed and glad he did not have to witness that. I don't plan on bring him around unless we get married. No I did not tell them he was coming if he did decide to come then it would've just been a surprise. We are still trying to figure out our situation he travels for work so I don't want to put pressure on us until we are clear about things.

This sounds kinda confusing tbh... Maybe he feels embarrassed because you haven't introduced him to your relatives and friends and so he wants to have a new beginning with you? Maybe he hopes that this time you'll consider him more seriously and show him enough attention.

You might be right it's just weird because he never is in his feels. So to see him act like this is surprising.
