Guys, Talking to a guy for 2 months, he decided he can’t do a long distance relationship again since his last one was as well, is he being honest?

This guy I talked to has mutual friends with me. And they introduced us. He is such a genuine sweet guy and was so good to me we had the best time for several weeks , we talked every day. Yes, we were also intimate. He had just gotten out of a relationship a few months ago so he didn’t feel like he was ready to commit again right now and because he’s done long distance before he didn’t think he wanted to do that again. He said it had absolutely nothing to do with me that I did nothing wrong. He enjoyed getting to know me and wanted to continue but wanted to be honest about his thoughts bc he knew I wanted something. My question is, do you think he genuine was interested? But just couldn’t continue bc of the two reasons I mentioned above?

Yes long distance relationship suck. He was probably just being realistic here and realized that it was unlikely u will move to the same country anytime soon

Yeah and I told him I completely understand. We don’t live in different countries. We live two hours away from each other, but still. He was introduced to me by our mutual friends and he said he went into this with an open mind of the possibility anything came of this.. I think as time went on especially after I went to visit him in his city , he realized he wasn’t ready for a commitment right now either. He had just gotten out of a 2 year relationship 4 months ago and he said I was trying to figure out if I was ready for another one again and he goes I was really thinking about exactly what I wanted. I thought about doing distance again but I did it a few times before and I don’t think I want a distance one right now. He goes I enjoyed getting to know you and wanted to continue to get to know you but I realized I’m just not ready. He said he had anxiety after I left his place a couple weeks ago and I think that was a good indicator he wasn’t ready for something new right now or a distance relationship. He said it was nothing to do with me , I did nothing wrong. Do you think he is being genuine? I mean this guy was so genuine and treated me so well and he even said the same to me. He told me I treated him very well too.

He doesn't owe you anything. If he decides he doesn't want long distance, that's just what it is.

I know he doesn’t owe me anything. Did you read the bottom? I just wanted to know if he was being genuine? I think he was I just wanted a guys opinion on it is all. He is a great guy and I’m not mad at him or anything. I respect and understand him.

Why would you say that? He enjoyed it and he was genuinely wanting to see if he felt ready and then realized he wasn’t. He thought about taking things slow since he wasn’t ready to commit to a full on relationship right now since he got out of one 4 months ago. He just moved to a new city, new job, there’s a lot of changes. And he also wanted to figure out exactly what he wanted he thought about doing a distance relationship again but he’s done it twice before and the last one was long distance so he realized that’s not something he wanted to do again. I could tell he really wanted to continue things but he knew he wasn’t ready yet.

Also, we didn’t just have sex once. And when we weren’t together we would text every day all day and you could tell he was trying to get to know me. We have mutual friends and they introduced us.

Then let me rephrase: he wasn't interested enough to continue making it happen. Why would you want long distance anyway, it never works.

I don’t think it was that he wasn’t interested enough. He had just broken up 4 months ago and that was also a long distance relationship. He just moved to a new city and started a new job as well. Couldn’t it be that he just simply isn’t ready? Couldn’t he really like me but he’s just not ready for that type of commitment especially since he just got out of a relationship?

You can keep trying to convince yourself of whatever want. There is so such thing as 'not being ready' if the person is right for you. He's not that into you, just move on.

So you’re saying if you just got out of a relationship with someone of 2 years you’d be ready to commit again as soon as you met someone even if it has been that long? I know I personally couldn’t do that. I’m not trying to convince myself. I know there’s a possibility of what you are saying to me. But I just feel like someone can like you , really like you and be happy getting to know you but simply not be ready. And the fact that we don’t live close to each other some people don’t want to experience long distance again.
