I’ve been at college for about two weeks, almost every night i’d go down to the lobby area and hang out with the people. From 8pm to 1am. Sometimes we are watching a movie, sometimes we’re just talking. I don’t necessarily talk to guys all the time. But i talk to my girl friends. There’s about 7 guys and 2-4 girls most nights. Anyway i notice how the guys will talk like this at time “Girls don’t masterbate right?” “Her boobs are massive” “I just need 5 minutes with her” they’ll say that stuff infront of me and the few other girls. They wouldn’t be talking about us or to us. But does that mean they’re comfortable enough with us to say that weird shit? Or they just don’t care about who’s around

probably saying that to see your reactions so they can tell what you might be willing to do yourself. For instance, "Girls don't masturbate right?" If you answer, "sure we do", or "I don't." then they know what conversations you might be willing to have with them. Or they would know if they asked you out and you said yes that maybe that would happen too.

Are they comfortable enough to talk like that around you, sure they are but probably have talked like that around many girls before you.

If you are okay talking about it then engage with them but assure them that they won't see it...

It means they are awkward college boys who are simply geting their kicks by talking about sex in the presence of females. That is probably breaking a taboo for them. And perhaps they are hoping that you will engage in responding to their sexual banter, and that conversation will lead to action.

You are young to be at college; I know because I was once in your position I started college when I was 16.) Find a somewhat older female student to serve as a surrogate older sister and listen to her advice.

in my opinion, they're mostly trying to impress people about how they are so cool because they don't care what anyone else thinks about what they say. They may not even realize that's why they're talking that way, but that's likely why they actually do it.
