Why would he reach out after I unblocked him?

Okay so I blocked this guy everywhere the reason being he played with my feelings n I thought he was my friend so I didn't feel comfortable having him around I had him blocked until I got over him so then I unblocked plus thinking he would get the message not to reach out to me anymore He still sent me a message on Instagram and through my texts He basically said "Hi **** just saw we weren't following each other anymore so I wanted to say bye take care of yourself out there" Like why did he even bother reaching out? Maybe I should've just kept him blocked I feel bad but at the sametime I don't He said certain things that made me think he liked me in some way n I reciprocated But it got weirder when I confessed n he rejected me then continued on to flirt with me 🤡 He would get jealous if I paid attention to another guy in a friendly manner n we weren't even together like that n this was after he rejected me
