Girls, If your guy doesn't like a hairstyle, will you still do it?

I told him I wanted to make long dreadlocks like the one in the picture and he just said "No". and I was like "I'm just informing you." and he's like "If you want to do it, you can but understand that you don't have my approval."

Guys, please what do I do?

Well as long as ur not appropriating women of color there is no ethical reason as to why u shouldn't do that.

If he says... u can't do that... that begs the question "Why?"

If the reason he gives u is because he doesn't prefer that look then the he better off go find someone on the same page as him.

Do not... absolutely do not change who u are for anyone.

There is some guy out there who likes dreadlocks on a girl who can come find u with this one leaves.

It is wayyyy more depressing when a person has to change themselves to fit into relationships

U change urself to please ur parents then u change urself to please ur friends and ur lovers

At one point or another ur gonna end up being depressed and hating all of them because u will always feel like they never really liked u for who u really were.

Once u teach a person that they can control u with their approval or disapproval they r gonna drive u nuts

Be okay with them leaving if they choose to do so... They are not obligated to stay with u and ur not entitled to obligated to them

Yes, I would, if I liked it and if I thought it would suit me.

I would also expect him to do the same in a similar case. If I didn't like a haircut he wanted to get and he wanted to get it regardless, I would still advice him to get it because I would want him to be happy with how he looks.
I wouldn't be selfish enough to impose my own wants on his appearance.

That wouldn't make me like him any less.
In the end ourselves are the only people who stick with us till the end. So any transformation we decide to make on ourselves, should be our own choice.

Well, you should do whatever you want with your body. If your guy doesn't like it, then he is free to go. At the same time, it is worth mentioning however that you may think that keeping your boyfriend is more worth it than a haircut. So the choice is your in the end of the day.

It’s really up to her. If a guy loves someone. Then he should love her no matter her hair style.

The same goes for a woman. If a man wants something. Like to have a beard or no beard or how he trims it…. It should be his choice what he does with his own hair.

Same goes for the woman. It’s good to be honest in a nice way. But. Her choice. If someone will dump someone over hair. It’s questionable if they even love you

Experience tells me that most often the lady is gonna do what she want's to do... if she chooses to discuss this change to HER appearance with me, I'll say something like, "You look really good to me already, but if you wanna try this, go for it... it's only hair"

Well it's not like I can change the way my hair grows out of my head. I have natural afro hair and I do not ever want to go back to perms. So if he's not a fan of afro I would ask him what he's doing with me? Thankfully my husband doesn't mind, he just wishes it was long again since I did a big chop lol

His approval? XDDD You literally don't need anyone's approval! It's your hair, your body. Had he employed the word "my blessing" it would've been *slightly* more appropriate. Yes, I would. Unless he convinces me why it's a turn off for him, and if he really loathes it that much, then I would take its influence on him under consideration.

If she asks, he says he doesn't like it, and she does it anyway, it only shows that she doesn't care about what he thinks. That's the definition of a lack of respect.

If he were thinking about supporting a man-bun, and she already said she hates them, wouldn't that be the same thing? Before I started shaving my head, I asked my girlfriend's opinion because I care about what she thinks.
