Why do men ask you out if they have no intention of seeing you?

They wanted to be with the girl in the moment they asked her out. During showtime they could skip out because they changed their mind.

Alternatively, they might not of felt the vibe from the girl. I've done this in the past when a girl showed low interest at the end of the talking stage (i. e. 1-word replies, distancing messages). Rather than say it's off and burning the bridge they just ghost her and leave the bridge open.

I am a turkish person and It's so common in Turkey, even we have a name for it. I guess you guys call that pull back strategy. First he shows his interest to her and then he acts like she is nothing he wasn't the one who shows interest. He tries to keep her intention to him and make her confused. By that he can keep her mind always full of thoughts of him. She can think after that like "oh I guess I am in love with him" but he will just create an obsession, she'll call this just love.
