Girls, what do you do when a guy starts showing less interest than before?

I’m at talking stage with a guy I met few weeks ago. He was the first who took showed great interest in me. I started to like him back as I got to know him. I initiated a few chats with him and he was super responsive on all. He kept things going from his side very well too. We chatted for more than an hour recently.

I sent him a message to wish him happy vacation as he is heading to one and all he did was just selected a thank you emoji on my message. As you can like a message, in this app I use to text him, he can select many different types of emojis and so he selected thanks. I was expecting he’d at least write “hi, thanks, im excited about my vacation”.

what should I make of this? Im confused to get this kind of response after all the great conversations we have had and the intense interest I felt from him when I’d met him. So, I want to get girl’s opinion on this. What do you think might be going on here? what should I be doing next? Should I back off 100%?

Sounds like a one-off fault on his end of the conversation. Maybe he’s busy and not on his phone much, who knows. I don’t think you should do something as drastic as backing off 100%. I think you should give it a few days, and see if he responds properly to you. If he doesn’t message you for about a week, then that’s when you back off a little bit - not 100%, and see how things go.

Hey! So I noticed that there are many types of thanks emojis in this office chatting app. Some are plain, boring and black in colour. Two are in colour and there's this one thats colourful and animated. He selected the colourful animated one on my vacation wish. I know it might sound silly but isn't that good sign in some way. He could have chosen a plain boring one or may be just selected a thumbs up (like) emoji. What do you think?
