He doesn't take you seriously. Perhaps he doesn't take anyone seriously because he's selfish and self centered. Is he good-looking? Does he get lots of attention from other girls? If so, then you are dealing with someone who is selfish and entitled, because he knows he can get away with it.

If he's more of an average guy, then he's probably just immature and inexperienced with women, and perhaps even a bit dumb. This kind of guy isn't intentionally selfish, they just don't realize what it means to be in a relationship with someone - they don't even have a clue what the expectations are. Most of these guys can be taught, but you need patience and understanding.

How well do you know him? There are other things that can effect that. It isn't always so obvious. He may have ocd or his mind might be processing everything at once such as your beauty, the scent, your voice and your movement. For some people this can be overwhelming them and if he really likes you his memory of your words will be distant.
