Men like to have sex with women but it doesn't mean they want to date and marry them all. He said he is only looking for sex, says he doesn't care. If it feels like he’s nice to you sometimes and then not, its because he is nice to you because he wants sex from you, other than that he doesn’t want any problems and leave you alone other times. and thats why it seems hot and cold. If he really cares about you and its not just the sex, a guy will take time to talk to you and the treatment you recieve will be consistent and far from confusing. Men will show you how they feel. It will not end well if you are looking for something more than physical with him.

And to answer your question yes it is sadly normal. He probably dated you but realized he is not down to be emotionally invested or lied about wanting to date or just doesn't like you it was just sexual novelty. either way, its pretty normal. A guy who goes looking for sex will leave once he's done.
