I doubt it's "a" rejection. more likely multiple rejections

and those aren't kind rejections either such as "I (genuinely) already have a boyfriend" or "I just don't find you attractive" or "I'm not ready for a relationship"

those rejections are more like "fuck off! go kill yourself! no girl will ever love you!"

Well given your age my guess is he still needs to learn that most women find most guys unattractive.😆

It's pretty logical that if more than 50% of people find you attractive, you're attractive. And if less than 50% find you unattractive you're unattractive. And this will work for women because most guys find most women attractive on some level. But the flipside is not true. Or more accurately only about 10% of women will want to date you if you're a guy.😆 All guys have to learn this. Until a guy figures this out he usually does take rejection personal.

Getting rejected is a horrible thing for somebody that does not have much confidence to begin with. It just reinforces his feelings of insecurity and inadequacy.

Guys get rejected a lot; even the top-tier players only have a success rate of 10% on approach. After so many rejections a lot of guys get discouraged.
