If people call you pretty or gorgeous , do you think they really mean it?

i get called pretty by a lot of people (mostly from guys and older people) but i rarely ever get hit on. nobody checks me out. i can't tell if they are being honest or just lying. i am a chubby girl. could that be the reason why i might be pretty but nobody checks me out? once in a while , a guy might crush on me but its uncommon occurance that happens once every few years.

I say it only when it really counts. And not so nicely I do the opposite, if you are brave enough to ask me. XD. . As my nieces discovered the hard way.

If you come to me asking me how you look, and you literally look like a disaster I'm not one to sugar coat things and I'll say it as it is.

just because you don't think someone is attractive, it doesn't mean nobody finds them attractive.

I feel you on that, I don’t trust it too much when people tell me I’m pretty, I just take it as niceness or friendliness most of the time.

Well I don’t think a lot of people do, it’s mostly just family and friends lol same as you too I don’t rlly get hit on and it’s pretty uncommon for a guy to have a crush on me.

if its from family, it might not be true because they often say that cuz they love you.
For friends, neighbors, everybody else, it might be true if they call you pretty. sometimes, guys are of approaching very attractive girls.

Usually in my case, there’s some bias, as I’m past my peak of beauty/prettiness.

Yeah, some do, some don’t. I’ve got a lot of weight to lose first. But yes, I’m pretty. So I know people are biased when they say that.

people (usually girls) often say it without meaning it just to be nice. guys dont really lie about that unless they want to get laid by you, so gonna assume your face is cute but your body is why your not getting hit on
