Why is my instructor giving mixed signals?

My instructor at work has been giving me tons of signs that he’s into me, but he’s barely spoken to me. Day 1 and 2 he was making prolonged eye contact with me out of our group. Like his eyes would dart around when he began a sentence, but his eyes would land on mine and he would look at me for long periods of time. Then, I caught him staring at me from across a room, and he didn’t break eye contact either. He greets me with and says my name all the time, even though he has forgotten other people’s names. He appeared to get a little jealous when two guys in our class came up to talk with me. My trainer sort of tried to look more dominant and put his thumbs in his belt loops and spread his legs as he watched me talk with the two guys. It felt a little odd and like other people were noticing he was watching me. But I kinda liked it. Day 3 he was more distant, but still helpful and polite, however I felt it was nearly impossible to start a conversation with him even when I thought there was time to. It was cut short because he needed to evaluate another trainee. I honestly think I shouldn’t have passed my evaluation, I messed up pretty badly twice, but he helped me and passed me, and he complimented me a lot. I noticed his hands were shaking visibly as he explained the next steps on the company phone. Day 4 I didn’t see him, because I was working outside of the building, until he miraculously showed up as I was clocking out early. He stood nearby with a coworker as I talked with a someone else. I looked over and I caught him facing me and staring again and I wanted so badly to go over there and talk to him but I didn’t know what to say. I like him a lot and hope now that I’m out of training and he’s not my manager that we can date. What do you think of all of this?
