Guys & Girls of GAG, nobody should be assaulted, raped, etc. but do you think women invite violence into their lives more than men by not thinking?

A lot of people say that there's more violence against women then men when, statistically, violence against men is 3 to 7 times more depending on the area.

But there's a difference.

Women seem to "invite" - not exactly the right word but best one available - violence into their lives by not thinking. Some of the situations women find themselves in that turn violent men themselves would hestitate to put themselves in the same place.

I'm not saying that such women deserve to be assaulted, raped, etc but an ability to think would save them from being assaulted, etc.. As example

Countless cases of women bringing home strangers met at a bar (an idiot move),
Countless cases of women alone on remote dark trails in wooded areas (an idiot move),
Countless cases of women walking alone in dark parking lots in bad areas (idiot move),
Countless cases of women exposing their young kids to just met men (an idiot move),
Countless cases of women trying to confront car thieves, burglars, etc (idiot move),
Countless cases of women so intoxicated don't know ass from elbow (idiot move),
Countless cases of women getting involved with a KNOWN aggressive / violent douchebag,

There's many more examples.

Like I said I'm not saying they deserve to be assaulted, etc. But they don't appear to think, don't consider the reprocussions of their actions.

So wouldn't you agree if women thought - used their brains more - they'd be less likely to find themselves in violent or bad situations

You will undoubtedly get some hateful responses. The Woke crowd thinks that a woman has the right to walk down the street totally nude in a deserted area at night, and if she is sexually assaulted, you can't blame her for putting herself in a position of danger.

In my opinion, if you can foresee or anticipate danger and you fail to take reasonable precautions to avoid that danger, then you have contributed to the occurrence of the harm when it occurs. And that statement is not intended, in any way, to relieve a criminal from responsibility for their wrongful conduct.

To an extent, yes. It's largely a consequence of the traditionalist/Feminist line of thinking that says that women have no agency in... well, pretty much anything, really. Nothing your fault, nothing is your responsibility, and you have NO power to meaningfully change your world, or even your life. What happens to you is NOT the result, even in part, of your actions, but of massive forces arrayed against you. In a word, they hear too much Cinderella and not enough Antigone when they're kids, and it sticks with them.

In a dream world: No. Because in dream world you should be able to theoretically walk around naked and NOT be assaulted.

But plenty of people don't have ethics so it's not a dream world.

In reality? Yes, there's precautions women - and men- can take such as not getting drunk to the point of oblivion and such.

A lot of people do, men and women. It's not just violence but could be anything. Leaving your car running while you run inside a store. Never locking your house. People do dumb shit in dumb places all the time but it's not social acceptable to point that out.

A number of critical situations can also be "solved" (ahem) by simple physicality. I weigh 92 kg and can throw a heavy punch. Someone trying to rob me will lie on the ground faster than he can say Jehovah.

No, I don't. Men being violence into their lives. Women who get involved with abusive men do that because that's how they were raised.

Call this the situational avoidance in criminology. I. e women are vulnerable if they go to clubs, are going out at night and such other issues. So, yes it's one aspect of keeping safe

Unfortunately there are bad people in the real world. Not being street smart and not having common sense has consequences when you're in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yes, you are correct about some women choosing to put themselves at risk, and about men being assaulted more than women. But some men also put themselves at greater risk by the choices they make as well.
