I've noticed a guy I was very close friends with cyber stalking my socials. First I noticed he was visiting my insta because of the very specific area that the traffic was coming from. He had also followed new accounts that I had been following even though I removed him as a follower and unfollowed him. I thought maybe it was just a coincidence.
Then today I logged into an old social account that I hadn't used since last year. It said someone has been periodically viewing my account via a direct link- he's the only one I ever sent the link to when we first became friends.
So that means he went through his email from 2 years ago to keep checking in on a social profile I haven't even used.
Why do guys do this? What's your thought process behind doing it?
*I ended our friendship because I had fallen in love with him and thought the best way to preserve our friendship would be to distance. He had also made it clear when we met he was only looking for friends due to his last relationship.

To answer: if we do 'stalk' there is no elaborate thought process behind it which I know completely short circuits you girls. We are either nosey or hoping for spicy pics. It's almost no investment in time or effort either. That's why girls thinking it is SO important is just laughable.
