Do men only care about looks?

I went on two first dates where the guy has said after talking about our families, if you make it far enough maybe you’ll meet them. I find it odd. Is this a weird thing for a guy to say?

Do you not understand that this guy said this as a way of saying that your PERSONALITY and BEHAVIOR matters? If he only cared about looks, he'd have known in 5 seconds whether he was going to introduce you to his family. Instead, he's trying to get to know who you are as a person - your morals, values, and life-goals. That takes time. And that's why he doesn't introduce people to his family right away - he wants to vet potential partners before he brings them to his family.

I'm not sure why you thought this was about looks - it's the opposite of that.

No but guys are mainly attracted by looks. The difference is that looks is what makes a guy want to pursue a woman. I don´t know why maybe it´s instinct but guys look for the woman they think is most beautiful. So they go for her first but her beauty alone won´t make a relationship work especially in modern day.
Now to what he said I think it´s odd, too for him to say it because it seems like he´s working down a check list. Though I may understand why he´s doing so it´s a statement that generates confuse and is not the best to make on a date.
I wouldn´t take it that serious and rather make a decision whether you want to pursue him or drop him but don´t put much emphasis on this statement and ignore it.

Here's what matters to me, 4 main things which most men would agree with. She must be attractive, she must have a good personality be compatible with you personality wise (you get along and have a connection), she must be pure (never been with or be attracted to guys that look like Pete Davidson (big deal breaker) and be intelligent. A big deal breaker is mental illness.
