There is this guy who is making rumors and telling his friends I like him when I haven’t said nothing other than say Hi! back when he says hi!
Sometimes he stares at me while walking slowly. Or he says hi! to me when we are alone. I don’t know why he would even say such thing.

Sounds like he's experiencing some wishful thinking. Maybe he is hoping that you'll either confirm it or stay quiet about it versus tell him that you're actually not interested in him.
I do have a bit of a crush. He’s a team lead. Not my direct one. He used to say hi! More frequently, but now he only said “hi!” to me only once last week. Ever since a day we crossed paths and he slowed down and walked next to me slowly, and he said hi! And I said hi! back, things changed. I guess maybe cause it caught me off guard I kinda walked away fast.
Now he’s been avoidant.
It would seem that you might want to consider not reading heavily into each other's actions simply be friendly again. Dating someone in the workplace certainly has its challenges though.
