Coworkers say stuff like that so I am not sure he was going to take that as you being interested in him Have you tried anything else? Only thing that I am gonna say is be careful dating coworkers. If things go south and blow up you can have a mess on your hands. Who wants to go to work to see someone they had a huge fight with? I am not saying it can't work but there are a lot of pitfalls dating a coworker so just keep that in mind and decide if it is truly worth it or not. Hope things work out for you.
Just tell the lunkhead. What the hell. We're in an age of women's suffrage and movements where they have gained numerous rights and yet, rather than just take a chance, they'd rather drop hints as if it's some children's game. Take the shot.

Yes. You gender is Notorious for being so subtle that no one knows your ever did anything at all. And if he doesn't respond you really kind of earned it. Because if you're unwilling to risk anything then you deserve nothing.
