Was he using sarcasm as a joke or he genuinely didn’t want to hold the door for me?

I gave him a compliment through message thanking him for walking me to my car and holding my door through messenger. He mentioned wanting to make sure I get to my car safely. The next time around he walked me again and I gave him a hug then turned around and was approaching my car. I was walking away but I didn’t hear anything so I assumed he was already walking away. Then suddenly he approaches near me and says “oh let me get the door for you.”

He holds the car door open and says: “Don’t get used to this.” So I just made a sassy gesture to look at him and nodded my head and he started laughing.

I know there are sometimes truth to a guys joke. What was that saying all about?
