Is my manager interested in me?

I (33F) am interested in a manager (44M) at my workplace, the only problem is; I am not sure he is interested. He's obviously a manager so compared to a coworker he would have to tread more carefully but how can I tell? He's really nice and funny, a bit annoying at times. We message at work a lot; sometimes work, sometimes random personal stuff. He remembered my birthday and when I am not having a good day he notices. When he comes to my office (not often once every 3-4 months) he will always come and see me to say hello an good bye, he even asked if I was at work once because he couldn't find me (I was in the bathroom lol). Are these signs of a guy interested or is he just being friendly?

You never mingle on that level with coworkers and even less with managers. This is not something that is going to end well because of jealousy and favored treatment by the boss.

All you would succeed in is to make the work environment a place that becomes toxic because others will invariably notice. He will obviously give you more attention and this may cause additional frictions at work.

Furthermore, I don't think that those small attentions are anything more than just being friendly. The fact that you message private stuff with your boss during work hours may even be held against you or your boss because, unless he is the owner of the company, you are misusing the work time for private business.

Thanks for the comment but I am not. I am genuinely interested in this man but due to my autism I struggle with if people are interested in me or being friendly and I've had missed opportunities to be in relationships with men.
