The guy I am seeing teases about my male friends liking me?

The guy I am seeing, I have been friends with him for about a year and a half. I know him quite well and he often enjoys teasing or playing around. He use to tease me about the male friends I have now about them having crushes on me. They don't, because I have mentioned it to them and they said no.

We recently started dating each other but this behaviour continues, I did not mind when we were friends because I knew he did not have an interest in me (from what I knew?) and I brushed it off. But now we are dating he continues and has made it worse by actually teasing them directly about them liking me and not just only to me. They have also said to him they do not like me that way, but he pushes them a little bit to see their reaction and makes things very awkward.

I have always reassured him I like him and interested in him, but he continues to keep teasing me about my male friends liking me. He says his only being playful and joking around, but I know there is some truth behind his teasing.

I am going to bring this up next time I see him, and state he is disrespecting my friendships with others and he needs to stop. But if this does not work, what should I do. Better yet, why is he like this?

lol you’re male friends are full of shit. They’re not going to tell you they like you. Your man knows this. If you’re pretty, cute, descent looking, chances are they like you. Men tend to make friends w cute women for a reason. Or they’re put in the friend zone by these women waiting for their “turn.” You’re naive to a lot of this, for one as a girl you don’t think like a man. Men know how other men think. That’s why if a man has a girl he doesn’t want her going out to clubs drinking w her girls. Because we know what other men will try to do. You don’t have to believe me on this because this is one opinion of one man. But if I told you something about my girl as far as how she was acting a lot of women could tell me what it possibly means. Just the same as men can do the same w other men. Your man is teasing you for a few reasons. One is he could be jealous. Two is because he loves you that much. We tend to tease people we care about. Especially other men. Men usually don’t go around saying I love you bro, the. Give him a hug. So we bust each others’ balls by giving each other shit. Yes your male friends want to fuck you. Don’t say either too that you asked them to which they said no. Most men are going to say no. Because for one if you found that out about all your male friends you’d probably feel disgusted, maybe not even want to talk to them. You’d feel used. Like really that’s all I have to offer you as a “friend” is my body. Men can’t be honest w women cause if we did most of you wouldn’t talk to us.

Since you apparently have a lot of male friends and are attractive / sexually desirable, the guy you are seeing now is either boasting that he's "got you" and the other guys that (say they) don't like you "that way" (but still want to fuck you, honey) don't. You are a trophy to him (he's one of those former "just friends" of yours, right?) and he's simply assuaging his insecurities by telling you that all those other "guy friends" really do want you sexually, but you apparently don't just hook up with a guy for fun, and the other guys don't want you as a full on girlfriend. He's a dick head and the longer you stay with him, the worse it will get. Show some self-respect and dump him. Your other guy friends will see that you have some backbone and won't allow yourself to be treated that way and might change their opinion about you being the unattainable woman that they secretly want to be with but figure you're not worth the effort to pursue and show some interest in having an actual mature male / femal relationship with you.

He is insecure and doubtful and I don't think it's going to change. His views over this isn't going to change because this is his firm believe now. As he himself used to see you that way when he was your friends so he is going to think that whole world is like him only and so it's going to be very much frustrating for you. You may get tired clarifying his doubts but I think it's almost impossible. Unless he get some shock treatment kind thing. He may doubt in future of you cheating him with any of your male friends.

Why he’s like this ir could be anything really. It could range from being innocently ignorant, to being antagonistic, to something more serious.

I think you should bring it up to him and tell him that you don’t like it. Tell him how it makes you and everyone else feel. That kr makes things awkward and however it makes you feel. If he says sorry and stops. Then hopefully that’s the end of it. If he keeps doing it then there is a major problem. That could mean you just need to break up with him and stop being your friend.

I agree that joking around about stuff like this is fine if you’re only friends. But now that you’re together it’s a problem.

I see a pattern. The females answering on this thread are immediately jumping to the “…he’s immature…” conclusion.

Every single guy here knows this: Under almost all circumstances we’re not friends with women we don’t find at least moderately attractive.

Add to that, she’s describing that unique breed of soft man who cling to the idea of lingering in the fringes of some pretty girls life. Somehow, in his mind, mere proximity and his tremendous generosity and never-ending availability, will turn her into his girlfriend. As men - we know these guys and recognize them on sight. Women, either for self-serving reasons or out of denial, don’t have the same level of awareness.

You are a fool. Your "male friends" all want to bang you silly and are just waiting for the chance. Your boyfriend knows this as do your "male friends". On some level you know this or you are lying to yourself.
