I'm bad at picking up signals so I don't automatically think of flirting and also I have a boyfriend so that wasn't in my mindset.
I was in the free weight section doing some bench pressing on the smith machine and was recording my progress as I didn't have my regular gym buddy to spot me. This one dude who was a personal trainer and had been there for a while smiled at me whilst I was working out and was going around cleaning the equipment. He noticed I was recording and tried to go round my phone so he wasn't in the shot. I made a little joke and said I was done. Then he ended up having a conversation with me for a good hour. I noticed when we talking about good posture and form that he looked at me up and down then said "yeah... you definitely got form"
After he said if I ever want any advice on any "excerises he would be happy to help."
I told my boyfriend after my session at the gym and said that yeah he was definitely flirting with you.
Do you think this is true or was the trainer just being friendly? 🤔

He was just trying to be nice and motivate you to continue working out. I would do that all the time to keep people motivated, The only thing I was interested in is motivating them enough so they continued to work on their fitness.
We are people just like you, was it offensive to you or did you appreciate what he said. If you appreciated it then all is good. If you were offended or you were creeped out about then just tell him, I am sure he will change how he talks to you. Trainers are there to motivate you. Honestly, I have yet to run into any woman in the gym that does not like to be flirted with or for someone to compliment them on how they are looking. The only complaints I have ever gotten is from women that overheard part of what I was saying to a female. When the manager talked to her she actually told the manager that it made her feel pretty awesome. nn
It would be torture for me to talk to someone I didn't like for an hour. After reading your question Id agree, you're terrible at reading signals. Stop wondering "why me?" Ask him out, women have very low chances of getting rejected
