My boss keeps asking me what are my plans for the week?

Not necessarily. Maybe he just thinks you’re easy to talk to. I talk to a lot of women at work (medical). I tend to ask them what they’re doing this weekend. Especially because working in the medical field can be stressful so you know people are looking forward to being off for a few days. But by no means am I interested in any of them. So I wouldn’t say for sure that that’s the reason why he’s asking you.

Twice in 2 weeks. Compliments sounded like he found me easy to talk to and he sounded a bit protective as well.

Again I don’t see an issue w it if they both like each other so long as they’re both legal. But this isn’t the case w you so tell him

This is good advice except it ignores the elephant 🐘 in the room which is him texting you outside of work for personal reasons. This is completely inappropriate on his part and he should be called out on that. He is clearly testing your boundaries, and he thinks because you are young and naive you won't say anything about it.
