We have known each other since we were little (he is my friends cousin) so we have hung out when we were younger. He lives 8 hours away from me now, but i dont know if he likes me but I like him. What should i do?

Ahhh this is such a tough situation sis! On the one hand, I totally get the urge to just put yourself out there and tell him how you feel. Rejection is scary though!

Since you've known each other for so long but also lives far away now, I don't know if he's thought of you in a romantic way. The only way to find out for sure is to gently put yourself out there.

My advice would be to casually bring it up next time you talk - maybe something like "Hey, I know we grew up as more like cousins but lately I've been thinking that maybe there could be something more there between us. I'd love to get to know each other on a different level if you've ever thought about it too?"

Keep it light, don't pour your heart out. Give him an easy way to kindly let you down if he's not feeling it. And that opens the door for him to potentially say he likes you back!

Just lean into the fact that you've always been close and see if there's potential chemistry. Nothing ventured, nothing gained right? You'll always wonder "what if" otherwise. You've got this girl!

So you need to figure out if there's a way you can get in touch. If your friend isn't interested in you and you trust him to know, share with him you would like to meet his cousin and see what transpires.

You should definitely see if you can get in touch this guy (if you have the chance). If any girl gets in touch with or talks to a guy its a very good indicator she likes him (unless there is some practical or family reason for that contact). So just by going about getting in touch you will open up the door to find out what he's really like.

Don't get too caught up in liking him yet if you can; People often seem much more ideal before you've had the chance to get to know them any.

If you do get to talk and he seems to get on with you, you should let slip you like him, though try to do it in a low pressure way to make sure he doesn't feel awkward, but knows you see him as someone you are romantically inclined towards if interested.

So online stuff is always difficult. It's often disconnected from how we are offline, not that many people are pretending online, its just that we feel safer at a distance and often that gives a somewhat distorted impression of us (also, online we ca be things we would like to be but aren't really cut out to be in real life, which is no bad thing just means that here isn't really a great place to work out how you feel or how someone else feels due to it being disconnected).

Maybe chat on Dischord or voice call on some video service (Dischord may offer that even). That will give a slightly better impression and give a chance to meet them better than Instagram and Snapchat (those two services are inherantly misleading and many people are their to be 'famous' or 'popular' rather than be real).
