My cousin keeps glancing at me time to time and makes eye contact mostly with me while he is saying something or telling a story. why?

We belong from a muslim family and we cousins are really close. Recently, like for last few years, I have noticed one of my cousins keep looking at me time to time, especially when someone is saying something, as if he tries to see my reaction or expression. Besides, he keep making eye contact mostly with me while shareing a story or telling something even when there are other cousins around, as we all are sitting together. I caught him staring at me for somtime whenever i dress up. He is by nature a caring and responsible person and takes great care of me as well. He is not touchy with the sisters though sometimes he caresses their head but never does it with me rather is extra cautious about not touching me. I do not really understand his thoughts and the glancing part. He is one year older than me. A quiet, conservative and introvert person.
