What does it mean when he replies late but act as he is interested?

Guys I need your opinions on this, I’m talking to this guy since nearly three months, at the beginning he was replying fast, like does not take more than 4 hours, but lately he started to reply late, he would take even one day, but when he does he replies for every text and ask questions as he is interested.. I don’t wanna ask because we are not in a relationship yet. But it makes me confused and I don’t know what to do honestly, I reply to him in a decent amount of time, not later than 4 or 5 hours and one day I was really upset from his late replies and did not reply for a day, he double texted me and asked where I’ve been

Yes, you should have a conversation because right now, you are under the belief that you two are working towards a relationship, and I believe that since you said “not in a relationship yet”. So, how do you know that he is also working towards the same thing? Personally I don’t care much for texting, I believe the best way to build a connection is in person but if that’s not even in the picture then what is the point of this? Sounds to me like he was not genuine about his consistency in the beginning and you’re now seeing that maybe this is a time pass for him.
