Why is he acting cold and replying late after I mention my ex?

We used to talk a lot and as soon I mentioned my ex is looking for me again he stop frequently talking or texting me. ☹️ than I got mad and told him something mean than I apologize. Do guys change sitting a few hours if they’re not interested in you?
