He promise me if he pass his final, he would pay for a meal for me. And he successfully pass. Then when we go out and eat, its normal for us to cheers our drink and he will just say short wishes. To my surprise, today, he give an entire lengthy of speech worth nearly 2 minutes, just saying how grateful he is yadayada🤣 i laugh a bit because i never see this side of him, and he say dont laugh, cuz he already prepare and practice a day before to say that🤣
Im so touched.. And i told my friend about it, she say, most probably, if he just see me as a friend, he wouldn't make it that ‘formal’ and can just- you know. Light heartedly say thank you. Is it true?

What you are essentially asking from us is to read someone's mind. How can anyone other than him know his own intentions? Could it mean that he wants more than friends? Of course it could. Could it equally mean that he was proud of himself? Yep. That's what I lean towards. I don't know how making a speech about something would mean that he has the hots for you. You don't give any context to the speech. Was it about you? Was it about how grateful he was he passed the exam? I think the context of that would make a huge difference in trying to figure out what he feels but I'm just going to lean towards he was happy he passed the exam and maybe got carried away a bit and gave an impassioned speech because he was so happy.
I mean. All he did was like “without you, i wouldn't pass. I was nearly fail and give up, but you patiently teach me and help me without giving up” etc2. Well i guess my friend’s statement coming from his action all this while like being super dang close to me etc. Also, I don't know, unlike other culture, our culture rarely speak our gratitude to someone. Nearly never. Just basic thank you thats all
