Guy confessed that he liked me months ago, and now isn't talking at all?

There was a guy I had gotten close with in class 2ish months ago, and when he sat me down one night and told me he had strong feelings for me, I was stunned and just didn't know what to say.

After he rejected being friends, he proceeded to not text me for 2 whole months. I reached out recently saying "hey! how are you doing" just to see if he's okay, but he doesn't text the same anymore. Why is he so cold? Did I mess up (as I feel like I may have)? Has anyone ever given it a go after originally wanting to be just friends?

Ugh, I’ve been in your shoes and this situation sucks. You didn’t do anything wrong, he’s just distancing himself now, either to get over his romantic feelings and be able to be your friend again, or just isn’t interested in simply friendship anymore. Only time will tell, but don’t bear yourself up.
