Is it wrong to want to break up with my boyfriend for going to a strip club when I told him i’m uncomfortable with that?

He said it was for his friend’s birthday and they all went. In the past I told him it makes me uncomfortable, to which he agreed and said it would make him uncomfortable if I went to a male one. I know it wasn’t his idea to go but he also had the choice to say no and not make me upset. I just think it’s not a place for people in relationships and this was my one boundary. His friends go all the time and it makes me uncomfortable that he joined them.

In a relationship, there will be times when you do something your partner doesn't like. That goes both ways, for the guy and the girl. A good relationship concentrates on the good things, not dwelling on the bad.

To answer the question more pointedly... it's never wrong to have feelings and want something. The real question is... what does one do when those feelings and wants collide?

Think about the position you put him in. All his friends are going to the strip club to celebrate their mutual friend's birthday, and you expect him to tell them "sorry guys, I can't go because my girlfriend won't let me".

If it was a regular thing for him, then I'd say you have a valid gripe. But in light of the circumstances, it seems you're being a little unreasonable, controlling and entitled.

I think it's fine if they go for a bachelor party or a birthday, but if he's going all the time like just out on the weekends or something then I wouldn't want that.
