I would just leave him if I was you. He still isn't over her which means that the woman who divorced him was his preference, not you. He's just looking for someone to fill the hole in his heart I can see him leaving you once he gets back on his feet and finds someone else who is his preference or gets back with his ex-wife. If she came back into his life he would take her and move on from you. It's clear his head is still stuck in his previous marriage and not with his current partner.

Probably not, just take his word for it. And tbh, that's exactly why I don't mess with guys with emotional baggage anymore, it's hard for people with past relationship trauma to truly open up. I feel for them but I can't take the risk.
