I'm 19 and haven't had much experience with guys. I'm scared of men not because I think you're all bad but it's a personal fear I have. I went to a bar with friends and some guys from college showed up. One of them, Liam, sat next to me and tried to talk though I wasn’t saying much. He was friendly in a fatherly way, even offered to buy me a drink which I declined. I felt surrounded by him and his friends so I moved to join mine. Liam followed me and asked to team up for a baby-foot game. He was touchy but it wasn’t weird, he was only touching my back and shoulders. Later, he asked for my Instagram. When we played cards, I sat far from him but he found a way to sit next to me again. We actually had a nice conversation until he leaned in and said I was cute. I knew he had a girlfriend. I brought it up but he denied it, saying they were no longer together. He suggested we go outside because it was too hot. After a short talk, I told him I wanted to go back inside. Then my friends warned me that he was lying about breaking up with his girlfriend. Then he flirted with all the girls in our group, one by one. One of Liam’s friends asked if I liked him. I said no, and he started telling me how Liam cheats on his girlfriend and does it with a new girl every day.
I know guys can do it with ugly girls if they’re desperate. Was it the case? Calling me "cute" felt like being called average. I also wonder if guys overlook me, as Liam claimed he’d never noticed me even though we’d crossed paths before. He’s a popular guy, so I question why he paid attention to me at all. Did I come across as easy?
I'm asking about this because I wonder how guys see me. Since Liam was my first real experience with a guy, it's the only thing I can talk about to figure out if guys find me attractive or not. I know I can’t assume I’m pretty just because a guy like him hit on me, especially since it was clear he only wanted to hook up.
