I can’t figure out this guys motives?

I went on a double date blindly with a friend. we ended up talking the whole night had a few drinks. Long story short we ended up hooking up. The following morning he invited me to his party a few weeks from then. kissed and hugged me goodbye. the communication has been limited the since the first interaction but he reached out seeing if i was still coming to his party and said i should go. I can’t figure out his motives or what he is wanting to come out of all this. Usually with hookups it’s one and done and never see the person again. I’m just confused on where he is sitting and what his motives are.

It sounds like he's still feeling things out with you. Remember, he barely knows you at this point. Spending time with you is how he can figure out if there's something more between you.

I try to remind women that guys go into dates and hookups with just as little info as women do. He knows that he chatted with you for an evening. He knows that he had sex with you. So he knows that there's chemistry and a "vibe," but he also knows that basically anyone can put on a show for an evening.

Who says he has any motives? What are yours? If you want to go to the party, then go. Or you can make up something in your head why you can't see him again.

So ask. If you’re even open to dating then you can’t be afraid of chasing men off by advocating for your future self and asking the right questions now. I’d much rather send the guy who only wants to “go with the flow” running for the hills than keep chatting and letting him waste my time.

You should ask him what he wants with you. It could just be sex and he might lie, but asking him is a first step to figure out.
